It is ugly, dude! I would not buy a Subaru. I would not buy a Mitsubisi.
To me, it's like buying a Saturn. NO WAY!

Hey Phil, I'd look at new Audi A3 if I was you.

Rally blue for me! Soak up the 100% rally heritage of Subaru. Even if they withdrew from WRC haha. I think Rally blue always looks best on STIs and it is followed very closely by aspen white.

what's ugly to you isn't always going to be ugly to others. For example, i hate the 06-07 STIs. PIGNOSE faux alfa romeo made me just got :shakehead:. I fail to see your Saturn comparisons since they don't even make cars that compete with one another. Also the drive and reliability of the A3 does not compare to the STI.

Hey Phil - if you end up getting an STI, and plan on driving it hard, listen up. Make sure that the ECU has been reflashed.

I know of at least three people with 08 STIs who, while autocrossing them, blew up the engines. It's a condition where, when one hits the revlimiter, the mixture goes very lean, you get big detonation, and eventually...kablammo. Heck, I was staged behind one at the DC Pro last year, which was on its second engine, and was already smoking up the place like a mosquito fogger.

The revlimiter can come up really fast in an STI - big power, short gearing.

    Just an FYI.

True, to some it's ugly, to some, it's not that important.

Best car IVe ever Owne....Subuaru Legacy GT....

The legacy gt has almost the same drivetrain as an sti(much faster then a factory wrx), but has a much level of interior comfort and luxury...Id seriopusly go take a Legayc GT, maybe even a Spec b with the 6 speed and bilstiens...

My car is Stage two..(which for a 07+ would be just a downpipe, catback, and a tune) as is quicker in a straight line then a Factory STI....

    food for thought

Phil, have you looked at the 2009 regular WRXs? They completely updated the suspension and threw a bigger turbo in it, so it's making 265 compared to the STIs 300. With a tune from Cobb or Ecutek you would probably be close to 300 hp for at least $5k less than a new STI.

yeah I'm really into the STI. I guess I'm a sucker for limited special production cars : )

I did find an STI with 7k on it for $27k....so I will be looking at it this week.

I drove it and I really like this ugly beast : )

I'm the same way, so I totally hear ya there. Also, I love the dark grey with stock wheels STI. The BBS wheels just don't do anything for me and the metallic grey is a great color. Have you priced any new ones? I would bet you could negotiate the price on new one down to around 30k since sales are down so much. Let us know what you decide!!

    yes sir

    yes gold wheel FTW!

i need the signature color...new ones are $40k and they will give 3k maybe 5k off its out of my range I need to let the first owner take the hit...besides I have another car I use for the weekends and nice drives.

Unfortunately I'm gonna pay the price on losing my shirt on the FJ...one of my worst car moves ever....
