Here is the story, I bought a 1.5 yr old white 550i. Since I have washed, clayed, ZPC (with white pad) and 2 coats Z2Pro (with ZFX).

Now that it is done..I notice some swirls still and it doesnt have the POP I want. (I posted this on another post, but here is the new part).

I have decided to reapply the ZPC with an orange pad and be more through and take more time in doing it. I will then either switch to a white pad and do it again (AHHH) or switch to DG 501 for a clean. I plan on doing the DG 501 either way, does anyone feel after using ZPC with an orange pad that it would be necessary to do it again with a white pad? I plan on applying the DG501 with a black/finishing pad. i will then do 2 coats of Z2Pro. Again.

Lastly, prior to using ZPC again...should I just wash with Dawn to remove wax, or wash with my normal Zaino wash and then use ZPC or....??? I have never re-polished a car.

    thx!

To remove the protection you'll need a heaviily concentrated car soap or dish soap. Make sure next time that you use a 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol mixture to ensure true correction. I've never used Zaino products so I can't help you there.

can you explain the 50/50 isopropyl alcohol comment? What do you mean?

I just searched...so use the alcohol to be sure I have stripped any fillers and to verify lack of swirls etc prior to LSP, correct?

I had someone else recommended new products...change to Menz SIP, then Nano or PO85RD (or ZPC maybe?). SIP just seems aggressive.

I would switch to Menzerna polishes. SIP will not be too aggressive, its not a compound.

Do you think I can follow SIP with the ZPC? Or should I get the PO85RD?

You could go with ZPC after SIP. But I would probably go with SIP, 106, then 85rd. Or just stop after 106 if you dont want to do the 85rd step.
