Hi guys a customer has brought in a championship white integra type - R. It has semi oxidised paint and the paint reading on the car is mostly under 100 microns even 50 microns in some area . In this situation what would be the best way to bring back the shine of the car? I was thinking the makita is out of the question and maybe hitting it with AG- SRP by hand? or maybe using the makita with the lowest speed setting and a finishing pad with SRP? I have the full set of menzerna and CCS. Pads. Ive also got paintwork cleanser "p21s" and SRP"AG". If i can bring out the gloss i will then have 2 layers of jetseal and 1 layers of HD wax. I was also wondering if it is safe to use a claybar? there seems to be a fair bit of contaminants on the car. Thanks kogen.
Cool thanks for the guide togwt. It was a good read. I was just wondering in my situation, if anyone has any experience using SRP on it? or any of the menzerna products on it? since i do not have the items or chemicals written in the guide. thanks kogenx
It sounds like the paint is too thin to do much of anything. It might be single stage, you'll have to see. I would try DG 501 with a black or blue pad and see how that goes. Other than that, I'd rather not do and let someone else burn through the paint...'cause you know the customer will be pissed off, EVEN if you tell him it could/probably will happen. I'd take the safe route.
Yea, you can attempt to correct it with a very very fine finishing polish, but I wouldn't do anything past that. Explain to the client and make them sign something that explains the situation.
FWIW I would try Klasse AIO (a chemical paint cleaner) on the basis of least abrasive I've been sucssesful with this method in the past
