Unfortunately, I have neither Grime Reaper or PB's Bug Squash. I've been reading that Bug Squash is some pretty good stuff.

The stuff I do have is the 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner and CG Strong Wash. I just remembered that I did try Goof Off and Meg's Body Solvent when I was in Canada detailing Subarus. The Meg's Body Solvent wasn't as impressive as the Goof Off. Actually, I really wasn't impressed at all. There were a ton of Subarus (20+) that had a ton of tar and other miscellaneous road grime that had built up when they were on the transports. However, we did find out that Goof Off was really sensitive to the glossy black plastic piece right below the rear windows of the Passat CC's (almost like a trim piece I guess). It happened to fade that plastic piece which almost turned gray. We were able to fix it by going over it with Meg's #83 (or #80, can't remember :shead:) and a white pad. Other than that, there were no problems when it came into contact with the paint's surface.

Also, I was just doing some price comparison between Majestic's Bug Off and PB's Bug Squash. For a 1 gallon, Bug Off costs $11.95 while Bug Squash costs $33.95. To be quite honest, I really don't think it's worth the price difference... or is it? It's almost three times as much for the same quantity. However, the only dilution recommendation I can see available is for Bug Squash which claims a 3:1 dilution but I can't exactly do a comparison if I don't know the recommended dilution ratio for Bug Off.

I'm going to go visit the bay unit where the Tardis is located tomorrow and see if shipping is ready to go, I will keep you guys informed tomorrow how things go...if all goes well by the end of the week I should be able to ship out Tardis. The only thing is that I only have gallon containers (I think :shead:) I'm trying to figure out how to send smaller containers like a 16oz bottle but I have to speak with Tardis to see what kind of containers I can use to ship it.

I should pay better attention to their labels. I've been using it full strength - think I'll cut what I have left 1:1.

Here is the text from the label...

    Left side of label:

    Directions
Dilute 1:1 to 4:1 depending on the road grime and bug condition. This is the most magical formulation on the market, and results are absolutely aoutstanding.

    Caution
If car is hot, cool by rinsing with cold water before using this product. Do not wash car in hot sun. Do not use on mat-gray Ford truck grills. Do not use on Chrysler/Dodge glass as staining may occur. Test on inconspicuous place before using.

    Right side of the label:

This formulation is a technological break-thru of the most up to date chemistry designed to specifically dissolve bugs, bug spots and road grime. The only formulation we have seen that will dissolve bugs in a radiator core, as well as on painted surfaces without harming paint.

Thanks for this info! With this in mind, that would deduce at worst-case scenario for Bug Off in order to achieve four total gallons, we'd need to purchase two full gallons of Bug Off at a 1:1 dilution ratio. This would mean $11.95 x 2 = $23.90 for four gallons which would effectively result in a cost of $5.975 per gallon of solution.

On the other hand, we'd only need to purchase one gallon of Bug Squash at $33.95 using their 3:1 dilution ratio to get four gallons and would result in a cost of $8.4875 per gallon of solution.

However, if we were to use the best-case scenario for Bug Off at 4:1, we would need to find a common denominator which comes out to twenty gallons (for simplicity). This would mean that we'd have to purchase four gallons of Bug Off and our cost would leave us at $11.95 x 4 = $47.80. Divide that number by the number of gallons and our cost per gallon is $2.39.

With Bug Squash, we'd have to purchase five gallons of product to achieve twenty gallons of solution. This leaves us at $33.95 x 5 = $169.75. Again, divide that number by twenty (gallons) and our cost per gallon is obviously still $8.4875, as mentioned previously.

Now keep in mind these numerical values are definitely more important if these two products do in fact compare (everyone's opinion varies). I can't pass judgement on either product since I haven't tried either but on the basis of cost, I'd definitely go with the Bug Off. However, maybe I might run into a situation where Bug Off may not take care of the job but Bug Squash will? Who knows?

Ok, no more of my rambling... :giggle:

Right price...um..:shead:..:shead:..is broken down per gallon container because that's how I ordered it but to be honest I'm still working on the price...I didn't realize how much I ordered . I just need to double check to insure the containers are gallons, oh and the containers are metal containers too...that's why I'm not sure if I'll be able to send 16oz of Tardis, I need to find the appropriate container that meets shipping regulations..shipping Tardis is so tight that I'm almost certain I'm not allowed to pour the liquid (Tardis) in another container that's not approved/authorized by Head Office of Tardis...I need to make some phone calls. But I vaguely recall being told that shipping Tardis can only be done via the containers they come in and approved/authorized by Tardis them selves.

Also, I've just finished gathering all the appropriate information to ship Tardis...bunch of codes, rules, regulations :bla2: :bla2: :bla2: and it is shipped differently due to how flamable/explosive it is. But supposedly, shipping wont be as bad as I thought...so I was told...I honestly wont know till the first container of Tardis is shipped.
