Anyone know how to thoroughly clean concrete? I've tried some of the OTC products such as Oil Dri and Swab; however, I'm achieving mediocre results at best. I'm sure many of you have encountered stains caused by detailing products and have found a way to effectively clean driveways and garage floors.
I too am looking..dont try thte stuff from home depot..the zep driveway, cement, and masonry cleaner..it was mediocre as well...maybe that at least saved you 10 bucks
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-clean-concrete.html to effectively rinse it, a PW is recommended. edited, Muriatic Acid in small percentage solutions work the best. Its not the safest for the environment.... but its sadly the only way to clean the highly porous surface
As above, there is an acid that you can use to thoroughly clean the concrete. I would call the folks that do concrete staining and ask what they use. If you can find out the product name just search for it online since I'm sure you buy it much cheaper. Update: muratic acid
Don't use too much muratic, don't leave it on too long and rinse it away completely, the thing about muratic is, it works by not only disolving the stain it will disolve concrete too. Brickies use it to clean off mortar splatter.
Thats correct. I'm a brickies son. If you do rinse with a pressure washer and the water looks a little milky you are rinsing away the concrete so stop. It's like Harry said...:thumb:
Seems my first post has not been approved yet so I will try again. The service that cleans our concrete uses this: then this:
