Hey folks, we've been getting questions on how to properly mix Anti-Frost Winter Washer Fluid Concentrate to achieve the desired freeze protection. Here are a few tips to help you out.

    1. Let's use the mixing ratio for -15° F as an example which requires you to mix 1 part AF + 1 part water (or 1:1). This means mix equal amounts of each liquid together to produce the final product, which in this case is 2 liters of washer fluid.

So that would mean mixing 1 liter of AF (the whole bottle) + 1 liter of water (just fill up the now empty AF bottle with water).

That's just over half a gallon of washer fluid. Most washer tanks are between 1-1.5 gallons in capacity

    2. This is important... We are assuming your washer tank is EMPTY when you add the finished mixed product into the washer tank. If you have washer fluid in it already, keep in mind that it will dilute whatever Anti-Frost solution you mixed and will weaken the freeze protection level (the more you dilute Anti-Frost, the weaker it becomes).

Solution: You will need to empty your washer tank or use little to no water when making the solution based on how much regular washer fluid you already have in the tank - we know, it's almost impossible to tell. Although, you should always mix little by little to get the right freeze protection without making the solution to soapy.

    3. If you have an empty 1 gallon jug (ex. a milk or water jug) lying around, mix a solution of AF in there first and keep it on hand for when you need it.

    4. Anti-Frost mixes with any brand of washer fluid without any issues.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions or if you have any suggestions you'd like to share.

In the meantime, if you are getting hit by this winter storm, bundle up, stay safe and keep warm!

I absolutely love Anti-Frost. I originally tried it because I was having problems with the generic blue stuff freezing in the lines.
Not only did it solve that problem, but it has much better cleaning ability, and wipes streak free with just one pass of the wiper blades.
